Silk painting quickly became a true passion of mine. I began creating hand-painted scarves several years ago, initially intending to make just a few pieces for my family, friends, and myself. I was captivated by the way the colors blended and flowed across the silk, and I became eager to deepen my understanding of the process. To refine my skills, I traveled to New York City to attend a workshop—an experience that marked the beginning of my journey as a silk artist.

My Process

I begin by stretching the silk onto wooden frames to ensure a smooth working surface. Each design is first hand-drawn and then outlined using a water-soluble resist to define the composition. I carefully apply and blend the dyes, allowing the colors to flow organically across the fabric. Once the painting is complete, I heat-set the dyes with an iron to preserve their vibrancy. The piece is then washed and pressed again to achieve a refined finish. The overall timeline varies depending on the complexity of the design.
