About me…

I have always loved art.  I remember this was my favorite subject at school.  I liked to paint on the walls in my home.  Mostly in my own room that's why I got away with it.

I was born and grew up in Poland.  As a teenager, I came to the US with my siblings and parents.  It was a totally different world, new school, new home, no friends.  I missed Poland very much. And still am.  Still like to go back to visit and Poland and Europe will always be dear to me.
I was reading a lot of books back then and this helped me to survive.  And also painting and drawing. I was able to immerse myself in my dreams, in my own world, and in my memories.

In college I discovered photography.  Back then you had to have a real camera and rolls of film.  Every picture counted.  I was fascinated especially with Black&White photos.
I graduated from Dominican University, IL with Business Administration and Fine Arts.  Got married, had kids and moved to a small town. Working in a completely different field and putting my art to sleep.
But art was strong in me.  It managed to find little holes to come out of me.
I got up in the mornings and went to take pictures of sunrise and morning dew on grass. I went to the lake to catch sunset.  I started to paint on silk scarves.  Went to NYC for a workshop.  Painted for myself and family and friends.  I loved how the silk paint or dye came together, how it danced on the silk.
I was hungry for more, I wanted to do something but I didn't know what. I was looking and searching.

I found a Milan Art video on YouTube one day.  Enrolled in the Beginner Course first to taste.  And after that I enrolled in a year long Mastery Program.  I know it was it.  Creating art was my passion.  It woke me up and I started to paint again and see it and feel it.
I want to paint beautiful paintings that will experience emotion and make people happy.
I love God and know He has a plan for me and I want to use my unique talent which He gave me, which I was blessed with.  The world needs me and what I have to offer.

1 Peter 4:10 - “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.”

I live in South Dakota with my husband and dog Romeo.  Family is very important to me. I have 2 lovely adult children and 2 precious little grandchildren.  I love to travel.

My favorite Bible verse:

Isaiah 41:10 says, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".

I like nature, landscapes, and country views.
Always contemplating the beauty of this beautiful world.
I walk every day, most times with my camera and a dog.
I try to enjoy every season but winter is my least favorite.
I love sunrises on the weekends and everyday sunsets, sun, lights and shadows.
There are different things to see walking at 7am than 7pm.
Same with different feelings and sky and stars when walking at night.
New perspective when you change the direction of the walk even on the same path.
It's incredible!

I love to paint the country scenes.  Animals. Flowers.

When I am painting, I don't have the complete source,
only part of it, so I have the freedom
to paint what will come to me during painting.

HAND PAINTED SILK SCARVES

Silk painting really stole my heart.  I started to paint scarves a few years ago with the intention of painting just a few for my family, friends and myself.  I loved to watch how the colors blend together. I wanted to know the process better.  So I  went to NYC for a one day workshop.  And that is how I started.

My process:

I use wooden frames made by my husband to stretch the silk.  I hand draw the design first with a disappearing pen and then outline it with water soluble resist.

After that I paint and blend colors, let them flow.  When I am done painting, I iron it to set the colors in and wash it and iron it again.  Length of  process depends on the complicity of the design.

Sometimes I use dyes to paint.  Then I have to steam the silk for 3hours to set the colors in and then wash it and iron it.

Silk Scarves - they can be a nice accent on your arms or neck

or you can hang them up on the wall of your room as an artwork.
